Hannah + Parker: A Summer Engagement Session at Smith Rock State Park

This summer engagement session at Smith Rock State Park was one for the books! Hannah and Parker were absolutely STUNNING in this breathtaking backdrop in Eastern Oregon. This state park is one of my favorite places and it’s such a gorgeous spot for photos as well as hiking! Especially when the glow of the soft sunset light hits these peaks.

One of my favorite parts was the fact that Hannah and Parker brought their sweet pup, Allie! She has gorgeous multi-colored eyes and did so well during their session! She just about stole the show! They make such a sweet little family! We also ran into a rattle snake while wandering around this beautiful scenic park! Thank you Parker for helping it move along from our spot!!

The Perfect Backdrop

Their outfits were coordinated so well and this background was absolutely PERFECT for these two. Purple is one of their colors and they bought a special purple leash for Allie just for the session! They started with their dressier outfits, which I always recommend. Then moved into their more casual but still super cute outfits for the second half! This is also the time where I love to capture those gorgeous ring shots.

I love that Hannah took so many of my tips from my engagement session style guide! She had her ring cleaned and had a trial run of her hair and makeup for her wedding to use for her session. I love this tip! If you’re going to have a trial of your hair and makeup for your wedding, you might as well schedule the same day as your engagement session to get some great use out of it!

I loved getting to know these two during their Smith Rock State Park session! It made me so excited for their wedding day next year. May at the Evergreen Aviation Museum is going to be absolutely BEAUTIFUL! They are having their pup, Allie, be part of their day and I just can’t wait to capture it!
