When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Julie + Brian: A Sunrise Engagement Session at Trillium Lake

There is truly nothing so spectacular as seeing the beautiful sunrise coming up over Trillium Lake. Except when I get to share it with such an amazing and gorgeous couple! Julie and Brian are so incredible to meet me at this stunning location at 6am to start their engagement session! Let me tell you that this long drive and early start was so incredibly WORTH IT! Sunrise happens to be one of the best times of day to shoot here and it did not disappoint!

How We Met

I met Brian and Julie when he reached out to me about photographing his proposal to Julie. She is the best friend of a sister of one of my brides. Hearing I was photographing Julie’s best friend’s sister’s wedding he reached out about the proposal. It was going to be at Willamette Valley Vineyard, one of my favorites! I loved how detail oriented he was and how much thought and planning went into making this one of the most special moments for Julie! It was an absolute success and her face and reaction were priceless! Especially when he turned her around to see her family standing back waiting to congratulate them. He truly thought of everything and I was thrilled when they wanted me to also be their wedding photographer!!

Brian and Julie had their hearts set on this location at Trillium Lake near Mt Hood. They love mountains and gorgeous scenery like this! One of my favorite parts was all the ducks!! They were everywhere and so much fun to have in the background! I had always wanted to shoot here and for the life of me I can’t figure out why it took me so long to get here but WOW! I will definitely be planning more sessions at this location! The view is unmatched and the serene stillness of it all takes your breath away.

Brian and Julie were so incredibly fun to work with. Down for anything, including taking off their shoes and jumping over to a rock on the water to get an epic shot of the view! I can’t wait for Brian and Julie’s wedding day next year!
