Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

A Winter Engagement Session at Trillium Lake

February 22, 2023

An epic adventure is exactly how I would describe this spectacular winter engagement session at Trillium Lake! I’ve been to this location before but it was at a very different time of year and even a completely different time of day. Rather than a sunrise summer session, we decided to brave the several feet of snow and venture out in the middle of winter in the later part of the day! WOW, did it pay off!!

A Winter Wonderland

Emma and Michael were complete troopers through our trek in the snow, which was over a mile and a half one way just to get to the frozen lake. It was worth Every. Single. Moment! “Beautimous” as Emma described the scene, we couldn’t actually tell where the bank ended and the lake began. The top of Mt Hood disappeared into the clouds but still provided an epic backdrop! Emma and Michael absolutely knocked this session out of the park! They expressed that they loved that they had so much direction from me on what to do. This was their very first time taking professional photos together and were in awe of how easy it all was! It was honestly them who made my job so easy by being so amazing to work with!! We had such a blast together frolicking and laughing all over this snow covered lake!

This location at Trillium Lake near Mt Hood was absolutely perfect for these two! They first said “I love you” while at Mt Hood and they are also planning a winter wedding this December. It was only fitting that we capture this part of their love story in this gorgeous winter wonderland! My favorite part, other than Emma’s gorgeous dark green velvet dress and the way Michael made her laugh, was toward the end. I felt like Emma and I became such fast friends and I loved getting to know them on our hike to and from the lake. So obviously we couldn’t help but take a selfie together at the end and when we both looked at our cute photo we said simultaneously, ” New besties!” We both broke out in laughter and it sealed the deal for us! Haha! I can’t wait for December when I can capture their gorgeous wedding day!
