Rowena Crest was a new spot along the Columbia River Gorge for me. I shoot sessions all along the Gorge but I hadn’t yet been to this particular location. But oh my, was this spot STUNNING! Wind swept and sunset light. What made it better was that I got to photograph the family of a sweet fellow photographer friend!

Samantha is a light and airy family photographer from the Newberg area. We’ve done headshots for each other and she’s the brilliant photographer that took my own recent family photos along the Gorge this summer! She did such a fantastic job! I wanted to make sure I was able to provide her with equally WOW-ing images and this location was perfect!! They showed up dressed SO beautifully! I absolutely loved her little girl, Elizabeth’s dress. It was a dream!

This sunset at this location was so STUNNING. Once the sun starts to set here it goes quick but the light is so perfect! One thing about this location, as with many along the Gorge, is that wind is a huge factor here. There is usually a lot of wind, which makes for some epic movement! Though I let my clients know that if they do choose this location, they need to be ok with their hair not being perfect. It will blow like crazy but I love it! Samantha and her family were such troopers through the wind and they came out looking amazing! I so loved my time here with this sweet family.
