Rio + Jon: Winter Maternity Session at Smith Rock

This maternity session at Smith Rock was an absolute DREAM! One of my favorite locations with one of my favorite couples celebrating their new soon-to-be arrival! The snow added an additional touch of magic to the whole thing.

I was so blessed to have captured Rio and Jon’s wedding back in 2018. They are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the privilege to know and have become close with them over the years since! We’ve done a handful of sessions together now and every time I’m in the Redmond area we always try to get together whether it’s for dinner or breakfast and just catch up on life!

So I was beyond thrilled for them when I found out they were pregnant! It had been quite a long awaited journey for them and I was so happy I could cry! This little bundle is getting the best parents! I also loved that they are choosing to have the gender be a surprise. How fun is that?! This wasn’t our first time at this gorgeous location together but it was definitely a different season here for us. The last time we did a session here for them it was in the heat of summer and while it’s beautiful then, there’s something just so magical about snowfall here at Smith Rock.

We had the most fun here and even though it was cold, it was something I know will always be cherished. This is exactly one of the reasons I love my job so much. Because not only does it bring amazing people like this into my life that I get to call forever friends. But I get to watch and capture these incredible moments and milestones in their lives. Watching these two go from excitedly engaged, to happily married, to joyfully expecting parents is such a blessing! I just LOVE them and can’t wait to meet their sweet little baby!!
