Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Anne Marie + Chris: A wedding at the Black Walnut Inn + Vineyard

October 28, 2020

Though this year has thrown a lot of challenges, I am truly coming to love these intimate wedding days! This wedding at the Black Walnut Inn and Vineyard was definitely a day to remember! Anne Marie and Chris were so sweet and filled with excitement. I have absolutely loved getting to know them over their engagement. So I really felt it when they contacted me a few months ago with their decision to postpone their big wedding and reception at Skamania Lodge that was supposed to happen this October.

Meeting in college, Anne Marie and Chris have been together for 8 years and couldn’t stand the thought of not being married any longer. So they planned to have a small intimate ceremony this year with close friends and family! I was thrilled they were going to get their ceremony now and that I was able to be there to capture it! I also love how much more portrait time I get with my brides and grooms during these intimate wedding days!

The Black Walnut Inn + Vineyard

Anne Marie and Chris chose to have their special day at the Black Walnut Inn and Vineyard in Dundee, Oregon. This gorgeous vineyard sits on top of this breathtaking hillside and overlooks so much of the valley. Though the sun was shining for us, the temperature dropped this week with record lows for fall. It was in the 30s and felt like ice when the wind cut through. But the cold didn’t steal the joy of the day by any means. Anne Marie and Chris were such troopers and just lived in the moment.

I was so obsessed with Anne Marie’s stunning fall colored bouquet and her incredible shoes!! These were unlike anything I’ve seen and how sweet that she told me Chris bought them for her as a wedding gift! You can tell by just being around them for a few minutes that all Chris wants to do is make her smile. I just love these two and I am so excited to shoot their big reception next year at Skamania Lodge!

If you love these beautiful intimate wedding days, you’ll love Lauren and Jacob’s intimate wedding day in Seabeck, Washington right on the water!
