Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Ashley + Chris: A Historical Church Wedding in Washington

September 1, 2023

I can’t explain how much this wedding day meant and how incredibly happy I am for Ashley and Chris! This historical church wedding was so special. These two deserved all the happiness and overflowing joy on their wedding day! Washington was the perfect setting for Ashley and Chris to share their vows. A ceremony at a historical church and reception at the beautiful riverside home of Ashley’s parents. It was simply sun-drenched perfection.

Deep River Church in Rosburg, Washington is a 120-year old revival church built in 1898. It sits in a quiet countryside just a few minutes away from Ashley’s parents home, which has the river as part of their backyard. Simplistic beauty. That’s what I think of as I think back over this day. Ashley was absolutely breathtaking as one of the most stunning brides in her dress that gave me of a real-life princess vibes! Deep red dahlias and precious emotion swirled through the entire day.

An Extra Special Day

This day was extra special for me because I’ve known Ashley since I was in kindergarten and she was in first grade. We went to school together from elementary all through high school. Not only do Ashley and I go way back, but her mom was also one of our elementary school teachers as well! When Ashley reached out after she got engaged and told me I was her dream wedding photographer I cried! I was so incredibly touched that she wanted me to share in this day alongside her and capture all of their special moments! Including the incredibly rad lining of Chris’s jacket. The tearful mother son dance where Chris’s mom pulled out a photo of their very first dance together when he was a little boy. The super fun and emotional toasts. The insanely gorgeous sunset photos in the backyard along the river!

There were too many incredible moments to count. I was so thankful to be part of this day and share in their joy! I wish you both a lifetime of love and happiness, laughter and adventure together. SO much love to you both!
