This year was an epic year for bride and groom portraits! I had the chance to work with so many gorgeous brides and grooms in some truly stunning venues. These couples were a dream and so much fun to photograph. Each one had a completely different love story but they all love each other so much. You could literally feel it in the day. I was so blessed to be able to capture these moments that will live in their hearts and hang on their walls for years to come.

Bride and Groom Portraits Are Important!

The bride and groom portraits are my favorite part of the wedding day. I know I say I have a lot of favorites. Maybe that’s why I love my job so much! But the bride and groom portraits are truly one of my favorites. It’s time I get to spend with my couple. I get to share in their joy and capture their love. These images will be the star of the day. They are the ones that will get printed and hung on the walls. The bride and groom portraits will go in albums and be given as gifts. They are used on the first Christmas cards that go out to friends and family as a married couple. These images are some of the most important images of the entire day. It seems like a lot of pressure. But I find it the most FUN!

So Much FUN!

Whether we are riding golf carts through a country club or sneaking around the other side of the venue to get that sunset shot. Whether we are stranded on a porch in the pouring rain making magic happen anyway, or running out in it with clear umbrellas. I always have a blast with my couples. They completely TRUST me and my portrait locations I choose for them and I LOVE that. I’m first and foremost always looking for good light. Without that, a great background won’t matter. I’m looking for how to highlight the couple and the venue they fell in love with. And I’m looking to highlight their love for each other in the beautiful traditional poses as well as the candid prompts.

There were some amazing venues this year. Some were returning favorites as well as some beautiful new places too! I can’t wait to return to some of these next year and add a few more to my list!
