Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Rio + Jon: A Couple’s Session at Smith Rock

September 15, 2020

This session with Jon + Rio at Smith Rock was just what my soul needed! One of my favorite things about my business is getting to not only shoot some of the most special days of my client’s lives, but the relationship we build with each other. I am then so blessed to walk through life with them and make amazing memories! I’m beyond grateful for these two. And, man oh man, are they STUNNING!!

I had been wanting to visit Smith Rock in the summer for quite some time. For some reason, I only ever visited in the winter and while the snow is gorgeous, it was a completely different world there in the summer! Jon + Rio moved to that area a while back and I had been wanting to go visit. So when we set up this session and I was not only getting to see Smith Rock in the summer, I was also going to get to hang out with one of my couples, I was sooo excited!!

How we met!

I met Jon + Rio when they found me online a few years ago while looking for wedding photographers. I could tell right away we were a going to be a great fit. They were definitely a Joni Loraine couple! You can actually see their wedding day on my blog!

One of my best memories of their wedding day, there were LOTS of favorites, was the moment I first arrived. Rio and her bridesmaids completely made me feel like a rockstar that day! I walked in and she jumped up from her hair and make up area to come hug me, squealing with excitement. All her girls followed her excitement in greeting me and chanted my name! It was the absolute BEST feeling to know that my presence alone took away any stress she was feeling and set her completely at ease! And the fact that her bridesmaids all felt like they knew me before they even met me!

Then Rio had asked me how I was doing since my mom had just passed exactly one month before. Which was so sweet of her to think of on her wedding day! Rio’s mom had over heard and gave me the biggest hug. She told me that she would be happy to step in and be my momma! Oh my gosh I have never felt so loved! It meant so much to me! This couple and their family will always have a special place in my heart and I’m so thrilled I get to call them friends!

Smith Rock

This session filled my soul and made my heart so happy! The views were stunningly gorgeous. Even despite the smoke filtering in from the nearby wildfires, which caused a lot of haze and the sky to turn orange. We made the best of it and ended our day with dinner together as a double date! So much love to these two!
