Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Zoya + Matt: An April Wedding at Abbey Road Farm

May 9, 2022

This gorgeous April Saturday in Oregon was filled with sunshine, rain, wind, and a stunning rainbow! We had a little bit of everything. What better day to have a wedding and what better venue than the STUNNING Abbey Road Farm in Carlton?!

The Wedding Prep

I met up with our gorgeous bride, Zoya, at the Atticus Hotel in McMinnville where she and the girls were getting ready for the day. Starting with the bridal details and then into her drop-dead gorgeous wedding dress, I knew this day was going to be epic! Shortly after all the finishing touches, we made our way right over to Abbey Road Farm just in time for the first look.

This venue is absolutely breathtaking! There is nothing better than a wide open view of rolling hills beyond the vineyard. And the inside is just as beautiful as the outside! The ballroom is lined with rows of wine barrels, hanging draperies and large round chandeliers. It takes rustic chic to a whole new level.

The Wedding Day

There were so many amazing moments during this day! Though I was prepped with a game plan for the rain, we were actually able to get through the whole first look and all the portraits before the rain started coming down. What luck! Zoya and Matt have a sweet little 8 month old boy. He was tapping his hands on the glass doors looking out upon his mom and dad during their first look and it was so sweet! Zoya made an incredibly beautiful and classy bride! I simply loved her simplistic and elegant colors and style! Walking into their ceremony and reception took my breath away! All the greenery, white flowers, and candles set such a romantic scene.

One of my absolute most FAVORITE parts of this whole day happened during the reception. Zoya is a HUGE *NSYNC fan. Zoya and Matt were sat in front of a tv screen just before the toasts. A video began to play that showed Zoya singing and dancing to *NSYNC in different moments through her life. Then something came up on the screen that said, “A message from someone who couldn’t be there today.” Capturing Zoya’s reaction to Lance Bass from *NSYNC wishing her a beautiful wedding day was one of the best things I’ve ever seen! He sent her a personalized video message and it was EPIC! How unbelievably cool!!

This couple is some of the most amazing, laid-back, and FUN people I’ve ever had the chance to work with. Their wedding day flowed effortlessly and their family is some of the sweetest people! It was nothing but pure JOY the entire day! I can’t say enough about it and I was so blessed to be there to capture it all.
