Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

The Best Bridal Details of 2022

December 9, 2022

The details matter! I absolutely LOVE capturing all of the bridal details as well as the groom’s details on a wedding day. These help tell the story of your day. They lay out and tie in your theme and style that you’ve worked so hard to plan and put together. They look amazing in album spreads and you’ll have them to cherish for years and generations to come. You can look back on these and know exactly what you wore on your wedding day, not just your dress and shoes. But your jewelry, your perfume, hair pieces. You can include sentimental items from a loved one. You can look back and know what was important to have with you on your wedding day.

Bridal Details Helps Me Get Creative!

I love starting a wedding day by capturing these details first. It’s the perfect time as most brides are still in the earlier stages of hair and makeup. No one typically wants photos of themselves until this stage is almost complete anyway! I get to let my creative juices start flowing by putting these details together and a gorgeous way. They help tell me what your style and theme of your day is. I get to use that to help me know how to capture the rest of your day so it flows together in one cohesive story!

What Should You Include?

I usually come prepared with some detail items to add to enhance your detail photos, like ribbon and things like that. There’s also a section in my bridal guide as well as a reminder in my check in email with a list of items to include. You can feel free to add or exclude anything you’d like from the list as it’s meant to serve as inspiration. But most of my brides include their dress, shoes, all 3 rings, jewelry, perfume bottle, invitation suite, vow books, bridal bouquet, extra floral pieces from the florist, and anything else sentimental to them. Sometimes that can be their something old or borrowed. It could be a handkerchief from a loved one.

Grooms may not think they have detail items but they do! I also love capturing the groom’s shoes, watch, cologne bottle, tie or bowtie, jacket, boutonniere, cufflinks, and any special gifts or things he would like to include. Sometimes the guys wear fun socks or have something special sewn inside their jacket.

Best Bridal Detail Advice!

I will also advise all my brides and grooms to gather all of their detail items in a box or a bag a few days before the wedding and keep it by the door to take to the wedding. They can add things to it as they come across them or think of them. This will help ensure it doesn’t get forgotten and that all of the items are in one place. So when I arrive on the wedding day I can come in and greet you, grab your items and get to work! You won’t have to stop your hair or makeup to run around and collect items for me. It takes so much stress off of you! I also suggest mailing me one of your invitation suites, complete with blank envelopes so I can bring a copy as well. The invitation can often get left behind or forgotten about and this ensures I will have a copy to photograph! These gorgeous bridal details of 2022 were sensational! I can’t wait to see what my couples include for me to photograph for them this coming wedding season!
