Blush tones, elevated rustic country vibes, and romance filled the entire day at Postlewait’s in Canby, Oregon on May 14th. Spring in Oregon can usually be hit or miss with the weather and this year we’ve been having a particularly rainy spring. Even more so than usual. The rain came in the morning so plans were made to have the ceremony moved indoors. However, these Oregon skies had a different plan for the rest of the day.

The clouds came and went but once the rain left late that morning, it didn’t come back! Makena was over the moon to be able to move her ceremony back outside, even if it was just to the patio. It made for the PERFECT setting for her and Michael to share their sweet vows in front of their closest friends and family.

The Wedding Day

Makena and Michael were absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with! There was so much joy throughout the entire day. They have some amazingly sweet and kind family that I loved getting to know. I honestly couldn’t pick a favorite moment out of this day at Postlewait’s. The hilarious, yet often times touching ceremony delivered by Michael’s stepfather. The emotion that we captured during all THREE first looks! Yes, that’s right – THREE first looks! The first look with the bridesmaids was full of excitement, giggles, and hugs! The father and daughter first look was so precious it almost made me cry! And the bride and groom first look was perfectly romantic!

The way Michael spun Makena around, taking in everything from her hair, her dress, and even down to her beautiful shoes just melted me. I love that incredibly special time that my couples get to have alone together when they choose to do a first look! It can quite often be some of the only alone time they get on their wedding day. Plus, it sets the stage perfectly to move right into their bride and groom portraits, which we were able to capture a TON for them!! It also clears so much time up after the ceremony! So after some family portraits they were ready to head right into their reception.

Postlewait’s Country Weddings in Canby has such beautiful scenery and grounds for some pretty epic portraits! Makena and Michael seriously look like models in their stunning wedding attire! They blew me away All. Day. Long! Their smiles and love for each other is contagious and I couldn’t help but smile every time I looked at them. They had the BEST bridal party by their side hyping them up. They had the sweetest family right there giving all their love and support. I left this wedding at Postlewait’s with my feet soaked and my heart so full! (The lovely Oregon rain left me some soggy grass to run through haha! But I didn’t care one bit!)

I wish Makena and Michael didn’t live all the way in Florida, though I would travel there just to see them! They are that awesome! Congratulations you two!! So much love and happiness to you both!
