An In Home Lifestyle Session for the Schaubs!

Welcoming a newborn into the family is a momentous occasion. It’s a moment filled with joy, love, and the promise of a beautiful journey ahead. As a photographer, there’s something so special about being invited into the intimate space of a family’s home to document these early moments. Recently, I had the JOY of capturing this family’s second baby in this space! Jon and Emily have been with me through the very beginning of their love story. We started with their engagement session and then their gorgeous wedding day. All the way through both of their maternity sessions and now their second newborn! I have to say that these sweet in home lifestyle sessions with them are some of my favorites! To say I’m honored and blessed is a serious understatement!

A Warm Welcome Home

I received the warmest of welcomes as I stepped into Jon + Emily’s familiar and cozy abode that served as the backdrop for this session. The familiar faces of friends and repeat clients added an extra layer of comfort. It also set the stage for a relaxed and genuine experience. Plus their sweet pup, who is always happy to see visitors, is always fun!

Creating a comfortable and visually appealing environment is crucial for capturing authentic moments. There was soft natural light streaming through the windows and their chosen decor reflected their personality. From a cozy nursery corner to a lovingly adorned bedroom, every space was a canvas waiting to be filled with memories.

Unlike posed newborn photography, the essence of in home lifestyle sessions lies in capturing the everyday moments that define a family’s unique dynamics. The tender moments of feeding, soothing, and gazing at the newborn unfolded organically. I focused on documenting the genuine connections and emotions, allowing the family to be themselves and revel in the joy of their new addition. One of my favorite moments was little Daniel sitting with his new little sister, Jane, on the bed. The pure contentment in his face as he gazed upon her melted my heart!

Comfort and Flexibility for New Parents

Understanding the needs of new parents is paramount during a newborn in home lifestyle session. Flexibility is key as the unpredictable nature of newborns requires patience and adaptability. Whether capturing the baby’s peaceful slumber or the unpredictable moments of baby fussiness, the goal is to create a stress-free and enjoyable experience for the family. And while little Jane didn’t exactly sleep for us the entire time, I love those candid moments! They are true and real. Plus, who doesn’t love a couple crying baby photos to look back on later?

In-home newborn lifestyle sessions are more than just sessions; they are an opportunity to freeze time and create a visual legacy for families to cherish. The ability to document the raw, unscripted moments in the comfort of their own home makes these sessions truly special. As a photographer, being part of these precious moments is an honor, and I look forward to capturing more memories for this family as they continue to grow!
