Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Jon + Emily: A Wedding in Rochester, Washington

July 2, 2020

Sometimes things don’t always go according to plan. We can make plans and prepare. We can set out for what we want. But ultimately, it’s God that determines our steps. He will decide what happens and how it happens and every single time I’ve ever witnessed it, it’s been better. His ways are always better. This wedding in Rochester, Washington, my friends, was just that. It was a change of plans but ended up being covered my so much love and grace. It was an absolute DREAM of a wedding to not only photograph, but just to witness.

A Gorgeous Backyard Wedding

This gorgeous backyard wedding was not in Jon and Emily’s original plan. These two sweet souls had their big day set at an amazing golf course venue to accommodate all of their guests in late July. Because of the pandemic they had to make some changes to their big day and they were faced with some difficult decisions. My heart went out to them as I knew they so looked forward to being able to celebrate with all of their friends and family. But then I got the call that they still planned to have their ceremony this year and a bigger party later on! My heart was lifted when I heard them say they couldn’t wait any longer to be married. What a blessing some friends offered up their gorgeous home to them for their special day!

Emotional Moments

This was one of the most emotional, sweetest, God-in-the-center wedding days I’ve ever witnessed. You could literally feel the love these two have for God and for each other. There were so many little moments of prayer throughout the day. There were so many tears of pure joy and awe. The closeness and love that surrounded them from their friends and family that were able to be there, was not only seen but felt. I don’t think I, personally, have cried that much on a wedding day! Especially during the moment that I got to deliver Emily’s gift to Jon and capture him opening it. As well as being witness to the amazing prayer that said over Emily by each one of her bridesmaids as she teared up into her handkerchief! Start the water works!!

The most tender moments, brilliant colors, and Jesus will be what I will always remember of this wedding in Rochester, Washington. Not to mention their INCREDIBLE floral arrangements! Would you believe they gathered these beauties the DAY BEFORE at a local farmer’s market and put them together?! Such talent!!

Their faith has inspired and spurred mine all the more. I wish these two nothing but pure joy, a life of adventure, and to never let their eyes drift from the one who turns our failed plans into something more than we could have ever dreamed it could be.

Inspired by the farmer’s market bouquets? I, personally, LOVE the farmer’s markets for so many reasons. If you’d like to find one in your area, you can search here:
