A lovely Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session

You can’t go wrong choosing the Columbia River Gorge as your backdrop for your engagement session! It honestly doesn’t matter what the weather is doing, it’s always stunning and simply the epitome of all things Pacific Northwest. And man, did Staci and Todd look amazing against this gorgeous background on this cloud covered day! This is one of my absolute favorite locations to capture engagement sessions and for good reason! Just look at that view! Rain or shine or overcast, you just can’t beat it.

Where do I put my hands???

Staci and Todd completely rocked their session here! These two are so incredibly sweet together and we had a blast running all over this Columbia River Gorge cliff side. It might sound strange, but when couples tell me they are nervous or shy in front of a camera I smile on the inside! Mostly because I love reassuring them that being nervous is totally NORMAL! Almost everyone feels a little nervous or awkward in front of the camera at first, even me! It’s not typically a natural thing to stand in a field or sit on the steps of a building with your noses touching. But I always encourage my couples to trust me and after the first 15 minutes or so nerves will subside and we will have FUN!

Don’t worry about where to put your hands or how to stand or what poses to do. That’s exactly why you hired me. I will help guide you completely through your whole session. We will usually start with some of the more traditional poses and portraits – parents especially love those. Then we will mix in some more advanced posing and some fun, candid moments! I will help bring out those natural smiles and laughter. Also, don’t be surprised if you hear be get super excited behind my camera. That means I’m loving what I’m getting! Especially if you hear me get a little sing-songy haha! Staci let me know ahead of time that they were a little bit nervous and Todd is a little shy in front of the camera but they did INCREDIBLE at the Columbia River Gorge! They were up for anything and I was so appreciative of their cooperation and willingness to trust me and my poses. We had so much fun!! Not to mention they look stunning! I can’t wait for their wedding day in July at the gorgeous Langdon Farms Golf Club!
