Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

The Thompson Family Portraits at Champoeg State Park

February 4, 2021

You know those clients that just feel like family? That’s Rachel and Madiba. They hold such a special place in my heart! Rachel and Madiba contacted me for an extended family portraits session and requested the gorgeous location of Champoeg State Park! We had Madiba’s parents join in for some amazing grandparent photos with all the family and grandkids. It was so special to see how much they love their grandkids as I got images of them all together and then individually with grandma and grandpa.

How We Met

We have known Rachel and Madiba for several years. They are friends of ours from our church Gateway Foursquare. My husband, Anthony, has known Rachel since they attended youth group together as young teens at another church. They have the most precious kids and they are amazing friends to have as part of our church family! So I was ecstatic when they asked me to do a family session for them and their kiddos!

The Family Portraits

Rachel wanted to have a bit more contrast in her photos so I helped her with some outfit inspiration to give her the contrast and pop she wanted. The darker blues mixed and coordinated so well with the cream and tans they wore. They really popped right off that gorgeous green and wheat colored background! We wandered all over this area, laughing and having a blast together. Watching the little boys together, running and hugging on each other practically melted me. We didn’t want to quit, especially when the warm sunset came shining through the trees!

These family portraits are definitely a favorite and I just love them so much. A model looking family for sure! They could be on the cover of a magazine with all their sass and style!
