Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Amy + Josiah: A Spring Engagement Session in Washington

June 19, 2023

It’s not often that I get the privilege of capturing an engagement and wedding for a fellow photographer! This spring engagement session in Washington was just that! Amy is a fellow portrait photographer who lives in Washington. I was so thrilled when she reached out to me to capture her special day and even more thrilled when I found out we follow the same educational photography mentor! I knew instantly that we had so much in common and had such like minds.

Amy and Josiah are seriously the absolute sweetest and they love Jesus! I was blown away when Amy told me that the necklace she’s wearing in these photos was a gift from Josiah and has the entire bible etched inside of it! What?! How cool is that? When Amy also shared that she almost gave up looking for her prince charming, God showed up in a big way by sending her Josiah, which far exceeded anything she could have hoped for.

Three locations!

This session was a BLAST! First of all, Amy’s first outfit was KILLER! Just look at that stunning color on her! We started out at a high school in Washington because their grounds were amazing. I mean honestly, does this look like a high school??? This building was giving all of us some serious Southern vibes. That’s what they loved most about it. Then we made our way just across the street to one of the most beautiful and picturesque parks I’ve ever seen. I felt like I had stepped into a rom-com movie at this park haha!! It even had real lily pads in the water!

From there we took a quick trip down the road a ways to a water side location that looked just like we were on the coast! It was actually right off the parking lot behind a McMenamins! When I tell you that we can make some beautiful images in some places you wouldn’t have thought to use, trust me. They will be amazing! Amy and Josiah both love water and this was such a sweet and perfect way to end their session right at sunset! Just look at that glow. I’m completely obsessed and I can’t wait for their wedding in July in Washington!
