Flowers, flowers everywhere!! This garden engagement session in Portland was at one of my favorite locations. One of the things I love so much about shooting at Pittock Mansion is how different it looks each time I go. For this engagement session with Alexa and Caelan, there were so many colors surrounding us! So many blooms, so many plants and flowers. It was the perfect place for these two to get all cute and snuggly to celebrate their engagement.

I met Alexa and Caelan during our first meeting last year when they reached out to me about their wedding. We sat and had dinner together and chatting it up for nearly 2 hours! I loved getting to know all about them! I felt like we were a great fit for their wedding! But getting to spend this time with them in front of my camera was priceless! Not only did I get to capture some amazing portraits of them, their cute genuine smiles, and their love for each other, this time we spent will be so helpful come their wedding day!

Some do not realize how invaluable it can be to have an engagement session, which is why I highly encourage all my couples to have one with me before their big day. Even if we already know each other! There are so many benefits and it really makes a huge difference on how your wedding day flows. You get to see how I handle lighting and why I chose the location spots I do. You can see how I handle posing. I walk you through traditional, sweet poses as well as prompts that bring out your fun side and capture your natural laughter. It also helps me be able to see how you interact together and what your best poses are, which ones you rock the most! When the big day finally comes, you will be pros, just like Alexa and Caelan! I mean, seriously, how cute are they?!! I can’t help but smile when I see them.

Once we have our bride and groom portrait time the engagement session will all come flooding back. We can whip through so many poses and prompts in record time because let’s face it, we never have enough time on a wedding day and every moment counts. You learn how to trust me to lead you and guide you so when your wedding day comes, all you have to do is relax and ENJOY your day! I’ve got you!
