Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Makena + Michael : A Columbia River Gorge Engagement Session

August 13, 2021

DREAMY, dreamy dreamy! This Columbia River Gorge engagement session had my jaw dropping more than once and for more than one reason! First of all, just take a look at this view! If you’ve seen many of my other blogs then you know that I LOVE this place! I visit here often as so many of my clients choose this for their portraits and for good reason. Though it may be a bit windy at times I absolutely love the movement it creates in the images! This is the perfect flowy dress spot! Whether you come for a senior session, maternity session, or like Makena and Michael, an engagement session.

Makena and Michael are, without a doubt, STUNNING! Would you believe she put their outfits together last minute?! If you ever need outfit inspiration that ties in with my light and airy style you have full permission to use them as examples! These two were so cute together! Their story is so sweet. After years of a long distance relationship in different states, Makena and Michael are finally together for good! Literally after this session at the Columbia River Gorge they hopped back in his truck and they left to drive down and start their life together in Florida. I can’t believe I won’t see them until next year at their wedding but I am so happy for them!

Just in the short time we had together we bonded so well! I met Makena along with her mom and grandma at Panera Bread to talk about her wedding plans. I immediately felt like we were a great fit as she described what she was looking for and what her day would look like. Then she showed me photos of her venue, which had lit chandeliers hanging from the branches of a huge romantic tree outside I melted! I literally cannot wait to photograph their special day!
