Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Hannah + Drew: A Cannon Beach Wedding

January 13, 2020

An unforgettable day! Gorgeous teal and gold accents perfectly complimented this beach setting. AnĀ emotional father/daughter first look followed by an ecstatic first look with her groom. A best friend who is beside herself and cries at the beauty of the bride as she helps with her final touches. A lace gown to die for, a smile that will melt your heart. Sandy toes, twirls in a soft pink sunset, and a love that you know will last forever. This Cannon Beach wedding was literally a dream!

How we met

I’ve known Hannah for a few years and we met through our church. Not only is she beautiful, but she has such a fun, outgoing, and bubbly personality. You just can’t help but smile when you’re around her, also because her smile is contagious! She loves people so well that you can’t help but love her back. You can really tell that Jesus shines right through her. So it’s no surprise that she found someone who loves her completely. Hannah and Drew are such a perfect fit. You can really see their love simply by how they look at each other, joke around, and make each other laugh!

The Big Day

Their wedding day was simply bliss. It took place at Cannon Beach, with an indoor ceremony and reception as it was scheduled to rain. Though the sun ended up peeking out from the clouds to shine on them. I also had the honor of capturing a first for me. The bride and groom were married by another friend of ours from our church, Craig. Immediately following the ceremony the bride and groom followed Craig outside to a quiet area where they could take communion for the first time as husband and wife while Craig prayed blessings over them and their marriage. It was such a sweet and beautiful moment.

Sunset on the Beach!

We then snuck out during their reception to drive over and play on the beach for a bit and soak in a gorgeous sunset. Light pink and soft orange lit up the sky as we walked and danced barefoot on the cold sand. It was as if it put on a show to celebrate their love with them. We even saw several giant elk wandering through town on our drive back over to the venue and beach bunnies running around everywhere! This town is one of my absolute favorite places in my beautiful state. I was thrilled to be able to capture the beauty of the beach and the love that these two have for each other.

Love weddings with gorgeous backdrops?! Take a look at Rio + Jon’s wedding where we literally hiked to the base of waterfalls in the MIDDLE of their wedding day! Yes in her dress, shoes, and all!
