Showit United Photography Conference in Arizona

You guys!!! This conference changed my LIFE!! I can’t say enough about the few days I spent in gorgeous Arizona. Not only did I get to meet my favorite mentor and hero in my photography world, Katelyn James, I learned SO much. This ShowIt United conference was a huge leap of faith for me. I stepped wildly outside my comfort zone to make this happen and it’s very true what they say. Nothing comes from sitting in your comfort zone. You have to step outside of it and take risks if you want to grow. I went back and forth a few times with my husband, Anthony, about going. He finally convinced me that I needed this. Not just for my business, by for myself.

So I went. I hopped on a plane all by myself to a place I had never been to attend an event where I knew literally no one. Talk about one of the scariest things ever. Little did I know I would leave with more friends than I could count and lessons and experiences I will take with me for the rest of my life. This conference was AMAZING! Not only did they have awesome speakers who taught us things in so many areas of our profession, but they empowered us. They helped us understand that we aren’t alone in our fears. But that we can’t let that fear win. They helped me grow so much professionally but personally, too.

We also had SO much fun! What’s better than a super fancy gala event put on for the photographers of the industry to enjoy rather than take photos of it? Getting to attend said gala in a PRINCESS DRESS!! Oh yes, I got to dress up like Cinderella and it was the best night ever! The only thing missing was my hubby. It was a ball gown style event and I wanted to go all out. So I had the shoes, the jewelry and gown to match. It was EPIC! While this was my first but their very last Showit United conference, I can’t wait for another like conference event where this time I may not be so hesitant to attend!
