Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Sam + Maggie: A wedding at The Woods at Crooked Finger

January 6, 2020

How we met

Sam + Maggie are super special to me! I was honored to be present at their wedding at The Woods at Crooked Finger. It felt like a real-life woodsy fairytale wedding! These two are one of the sweetest couples I know. We met through their first photo session with me about 3 years ago. I shot their maternity session for them and Maggie was just about the cutest pregnant mom-to-be ever! Since then I have shot several photo sessions for them and we became great friends as I got to watch their little family grow. So you can imagine how excited I was when they asked me to photograph their wedding day!

Their special day

The Woods at Crooked Finger was an incredible venue and not to mention brand new! Sam and Maggie were the first to break in this new dreamy setting tucked away in the woods. That’s actually what it’s called – The Woods at Crooked Finger located in Scotts Mills, Oregon. There were moments that I felt like we stepped right into the Twilight movies and it was amazing! Twinkle lights in the trees and everything!

I honestly couldn’t pin point my favorite part of the day. From riding around the grounds on the golf cart to sneak away for photos to watching them love on Sam’s sweet grandmother. Perhaps the tender moment during the ceremony when they got to bring up their son, Noah, to be prayed over. Or just being in awe of the stunning fall themed wildflower centerpieces that matched the uniquely beautiful bridesmaids dresses.

This wedding was one for the books. Congratulations Sam + Maggie! I can’t wait to watch and be apart of some of your amazing adventures!

I love how close Sam and Maggie are with their friends and family! If you love all the family love, you HAVE to take a look at Jon + Emily’s emotional wedding day in Washington!
