Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Jessica + Bryan: A Gates, Oregon Engagement Session

August 27, 2020

There have been many times when I will get requests to shoot on a client’s private property or property of a family member. It usually never disappoints here in the Pacific Northwest and the views are usually always gorgeous! The only downfall is that I end up falling in love with the place but obviously, because it’s private property, it’s a one and done deal. I can’t usually come back and say shoot all my family sessions there, haha! BUT this Gates, Oregon engagement session was actually an exception to that rule!

I was so blessed to have shot a wedding here at this private residence out in Gates last year. It had the most stunning view of the rolling hills and wide open spaces. Just gorgeous! So when Jessica and Bryan reached out to me about shooting their wedding and told me they were cousins of a bride and groom of mine from last year AND they wanted their engagement session done at the same location I shot the wedding, I was SO excited!!

Jessica grew up around this farm so it was extra special to her that we did their session here and of course, we had to get the cows in some of the shots! Jessica + Bryan were so cute and playful together! You could tell she really felt like she was home. I felt right at home with them during this Gates, Oregon engagement session. I can’t wait for their upcoming wedding day!!
