Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Weslie + Zach: A Spring Wedding at Aurora Colony Vineyards

June 21, 2022

This gorgeous Spring wedding at Aurora Colony Vineyards had been so long awaited. Simplistic and elegant, this venue was decorated in bright whites and lots of greens. It was a perfect fit for Weslie and Zach. This venue is one of my absolute favorites in this area! Even though it rained off and on a little bit, we lucked out during ALL of their portraits and managed to stay dry while wandering their beautiful grounds.

A Wedding Worth Waiting For

This super sweet couple initially reached out to me in 2019 to book their wedding date. I was so blessed that they flew me out in early 2020 where they live in Colorado for their engagement session! We climbed mountains and took photos in some amazing areas there! It was definitely a weekend to remember! Unfortunately, due to Covid, their original wedding date in 2020 at Aurora Colony Vineyards was forced to reschedule. They decided they just couldn’t wait to be married to each other. So they eloped and had a small intimate ceremony in 2021. They still planned on having their full reception with all their friends and family when they could.

Weslie and Zach finally got their day this June 2022!! This day was years in the making and there are no two people better deserving of such a celebration! My favorite part of the whole day was during their first look. Weslie didn’t wear her wedding dress for their elopement but saved it for this special day. So Zach hadn’t yet seen it. During their private moment, they read vows they had written for each other. Their tearful, love-filled words reconfirmed what they promised during their elopement the year before. It was absolutely priceless. I love when my couples share special things during their first look! Whether it’s reading vows privately or exchanging sentimental gifts. This time together is theirs to make their own.

The Reception

After reading their emotional vows and taking all the portraits, they skipped over having a ceremony. Instead they went straight to their long awaited reception with their friends and family! Dancing, cake, and toasts, followed by even more portraits and the most KILLER sunset I’ve ever seen!! We also caught the most incredible rainbow right before sunset and couldn’t help but capture another portrait or two with it. What a beautiful way to say this day was worth the wait and there’s something special ahead for these two.

I am so incredibly happy for Weslie and Zach and wish them all the love and happiness in the world! I’m so sad we don’t live closer as I’ve loved getting to know them over all these years. But if and when I ever travel back to Colorado it would be so much fun to catch up again! So much love and joy to you both!
