Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

A Senior Session with a Best Friend in Salem!

August 5, 2023

You guys!!! This is MY sweet baby girl! My first born! And yes, she’s now a senior. * Cue tears* As a parent, the journey of watching your child grow is a beautiful and bittersweet experience. One of the ways to freeze these moments in time is through senior sessions. And, of course, we had to do her senior photos with her best friend, Lily! I highly recommend that seniors do their sessions alongside their best friends! It made it SO much fun and honestly we were all dying laughing practically the entire time. There’s no other way to get genuine smiles than to have your best friend there!

We had been talking about Arika’s senior photos since I became a photographer and started my business YEARS ago. It was so hard to believe that the moment had finally arrived! I’m not gonna lie when I say I teared up while editing these. It truly is bittersweet. We started this super fun session with Arika and her best friend, Lily, in the charming downtown area of Salem, Oregon. The day unfolded into a magical adventure that we will cherish forever.

Downtown Salem

Our journey began in downtown Salem, a city that effortlessly blends history with modern charm. The brick-lined sidewalks and historic architecture provided a picturesque backdrop for the senior session. The vibrant murals, quaint shops, and the iconic Cherry City Carousel added a touch of whimsy to the atmosphere. The laughter and excitement filled the air as we navigated through the streets, capturing candid moments against the backdrop of historic landmarks and colorful street art.

The girls’ personalities shone through as we explored the vibrant local scene. The session seamlessly blended the urban atmosphere with the warmth of friendship and the anticipation of the future. Watching them together brought my heart so much joy!

A Second Location

As the sun began its descent, we made our way to a nearby local park to capture the golden hour and an outfit change. The park, with its lush greenery and tranquil setting, provided the perfect contrast to the urban energy of downtown Salem. It was the perfect way to end the day and the light grew softer.

The laughter continued as we strolled through the park, capturing the girls in playful poses against the backdrop of nature. The changing colors of the sky added a touch of magic to the final moments of the session. It was a time to reflect on the journey leading up to this point and to embrace the exciting chapter that lay ahead for both of them.

The senior session in downtown Salem, Oregon, became more than just a session. It was a celebration of friendship, accomplishment, and the beauty of transition. The city’s eclectic charm and the natural beauty of the park created memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. As a parent, witnessing the joy and camaraderie of my daughter and her best friend during this special session was a priceless experience. Come June, I will be seeing her off as she enlists for the Air Force and leaves for boot camp. It say I’m proud is an understatement! Happy senior year, girls!
