Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Brittney + Drew: A Portland Temple Wedding

October 14, 2020

This beautiful small wedding for Brittney and Drew was absolutely incredible! This Portland temple is stunning and I was so excited to find myself back here again to photograph the gorgeous bride and groom! It was march this year when I photographed my first temple wedding here and just like the first time, I was so blown away. Not only is this marble building massive and breathtaking, the landscaping and grounds were equally stunning! So well manicured and SO MUCH COLOR! There was also snow among the cherry blossom trees last time we were here so it was fun to see it in a different season.

How it happened

Brittney and Drew had planned to have their temple ceremony on 10/10/2020 but the availability didn’t quite work out. They ended up with a ceremony time of 8am on 10/9/2020 and it actually worked quite well! We ended up with incredible weather right before it poured all weekend. The bride’s mom, Shelly called me to see if I was available to come and photograph them coming out of the Portland temple after their ceremony and capturing some family portraits and portraits of the bride and groom. Just like the last temple wedding, which happened exactly the same way, I happened to be available that morning and jumped at the chance to shoot here again! They are also family of the previous wedding here so I had met Shelly before and remembered me for her daughter’s wedding. I was so honored!

The bride and groom

Brittney and Drew were just about the CUTEST things as they came out of this temple! All smiles and grins and Drew stealing kisses at any point he could. Who would blame him, just LOOK at his bride! Brittney’s dress floored me. It is so stunning and elegant and I squealed a little unbustling it to lay it fully down. Wow! Not only was she gorgeous in her dress, her shoes put it over the top! I was so obsessed with these pale powder blue heels with the little gold clips around the edges!

There was so much joy in this short time I spent with Brittney and Drew and their families that could be there for this moment. What a blessing it was to witness and be a part of! I find it so amazing that I was available for Becca and Chris at this same temple in March and again now for this beautiful couple! That pond surrounded by what feels like a colorful garden always gets me. All these colors give me LIFE! Then the fountain in front of this breathtaking building, I loved every second of this day! Congrats, Brittney and Drew! May you have a lifetime of love and laughter together.
