One of the most often asked questions when planning an engagement session is about the timing. This engagement session at Mary’s Peak showcases the gorgeous glow of golden hour! The best time for portraits is a couple of hours before sunset or even closer to sunset. That’s when the sun will be low in the sky and offer a much softer light than if it was high overhead during midday. It’s easier to work with when it’s softer and provides more flattering light.
Marissa and Andrew chose this incredible backdrop for their engagement session and it did not disappoint! They are so incredibly cute and were so much fun to hang out with! I love how I will find out that some of my couples are connected somehow. Marissa and Andrew used to work with one of my brides from last year. They didn’t even know that they had both chosen the same photographer but it happened by coincidence! Marissa completely made my day as we were chatting during our hike to the top of this gorgeous hillscape at Mary’s Peak. She told me that my previous bride absolutely loved me and would have chosen me over and over again as her photographer to capture her day! That made my heart soar!
But even more than that was my time here at Mary’s Peak with these two! The sunset glow that engulfed them just heightened their sweetest! They were down for anything and made this session so much fun. I love when my couples truly trust me. It was pure sun-filled magic and I can’t wait for their gorgeous wedding day at Langdon Farms this September!
