Vintage. Color. Romance. Emotion. Pure unrelenting JOY! There are so many words I can think of to describe this day and they would all be perfect! This fall wedding at Shadow Hills Country Club was all of the above and then some! Jennifer and Ryan were mesmerizing and not just because they looked STUNNING! They were so enraptured in how much they love each other it was impossible to look at them and not smile. It filled my heart so much to just be in their presence.
How We Met
Jennifer and I met a couple years ago when I went into a Tan Republic one day shortly after my mom passed away. I decided to take some self care advice and do something for me. Jen was the one behind the counter that day and we connected instantly. She was such a bright light in a dark time in my life. We ended up chatting for over an hour. Every time I went in and saw her we had such amazing, deep chats. I felt like we just got each other. She has the most loving heart. We shared so many laughs, hugs, and tears right there in the Tan Republic! She helped get me through one of the most difficult times. I am so grateful to call her friend. So you can imagine my excitement when I found out she was engaged! From the moment I met Ryan I could just feel how much they cared about each other and she found someone who loved all of her the way she deserves.
A Vintage Wedding
This wedding had a vintage twist and it was so SPECIAL! My heart was overcome with emotion when Jennifer told me just how special her dress and veil were. If you looked at her dress and thought it had an older vintage style, you’d be right! This stunning dress was worn by her mother at their wedding. It had sat in the box for the last 40 years and wasn’t taken out until Jen’s wedding. Jen put it on and it fit PERFECTLY! No alterations needed! The veil is extra special as well as this was her grandmother’s veil that her mother also wore on her wedding day. Three generations have now worn this veil and two generations have worn this dress. I don’t know how you get more special than that!
There was also a first for me at this wedding that was quite honestly amazing! Since Jen’s dress was so vintage and came from her family, Ryan had already seen it. Though Jen informed me that she had yet to see Ryan’s suit or anything that he would be wearing. So instead of the traditional first look set up where the bride will come up behind the groom, we flipped it! I positioned Jen outside and brought Ryan out to come up behind her. Once he called her name, she turned around to see her handsome groom and the reaction was priceless!!
I will be swooning for quite some time over this wedding at Shadow Hills Country Club. I was so honored and blessed to be the one to capture these precious moments! Congratulations Jennifer and Ryan! I wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure together!
