Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

The Barker Family: A Family Session at Champoeg Park

November 11, 2022

This sweet family was absolutely adorable!! I had the honor of photographing Shana and Garrett’s beautiful wedding at Champoeg Park. It was so great that we got to return here for their family session with their new little one! I love it when my couples come back to me after their weddings as their families grow. It’s such an honor for me to capture these precious moments throughout their lives!

Sweet little Maggie was so adorable! Though she went back and forth a little bit with deciding she didn’t want photos haha! Regardless, we let her roam around, pick the flowers, and have some time to let her be. We got some amazing shots of them just being a family! Sometimes it’s those candid family moments that are my most favorite. Where things aren’t posed or forced. It’s just real and genuine. The best way to capture those is to just let the kids be themselves for a bit! Whether that’s running around and exploring or picking flowers with mommy.

This park is amazing for sessions and it doesn’t matter what time of year you come! The summer and fall would be my favorite but this park truly has it all! There’s the gorgeous oak grove and a short distance away is a wheat field with a super cute wooden fence. It sits right along the river too, so on an overcast day you can get photos right on the dock! Champoeg Park will continue to be one of my favorite family session spots!
