On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Katie + James: A Rainy Spring Wedding at Red Barn Villa

They say rain on your wedding day is a sign of good luck. This Spring wedding at Red Barn Villa was so stunning and fun you almost forgot about the pouring rain! Spring was everywhere with bright, bold florals that came in shades of a sunset. The grounds at Red Barn Villa were to die for as we were surrounded by lush, quiet gardens.

The Wedding Day

Katie and James were so amazing to work with! Rain on your wedding day isn’t what most would choose. But these two went with it and didn’t let it stop their overflowing joy. It was such a magical day! Luckily we had some dry moments toward the end when we snuck out for some “sunset portraits”. This is one of the reasons I love recommending to do these with all my couples. We may not always get that gorgeous, glowly sunset light. But often when we have a day of rain it could give us a chance to have a moment of dry to get some portraits in a different location!

Katie looked just like a bride model! She was so gorgeous and the James looked at her could make you melt! The day was filled with so much emotion and tears of joy. From the short and so super sweet father-daughter first look, to James’s face when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. Even the moment Katie’s sister Kellie helped put on her veil, knowing that Katie will be putting that same veil on Kellie in August! The little precious moments all added up to one incredible day! And I’m so excited that I get to see these two and their family again for her sister, Kellie’s wedding in August!
