Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Amanda + Bryan: A Cannon Beach Engagement Session

August 13, 2021

Oregon is such a gorgeous state! I love that you can drive just an hour or two in any direction and end up somewhere different but equally beautiful! Whether it’s to the mountains, to the Columbia River Gorge, the desert, or the beach. I count myself truly lucky that we have all of that here! One of my happy places is Cannon Beach. It’s a couple hours from home for me but when Amanda and Bryan requested a Cannon Beach engagement session I didn’t hesitate!

Amanda and Bryan are originally from Arizona though they visit here a few times a year. They weren’t going to be able to come to Oregon until the week of their wedding. But knowing how important an engagement session is, we planned for their Cannon beach engagement session only 4 days before the big day and it was absolutely AMAZING! I LOVE how much they trusted me and were so flexible. They were so much fun to work with and we became fast friends! This gorgeous sunshine, the tall beach grass, and their beautiful light colored outfits were so perfect!

One of my favorite things about their session was the special request they asked for. Their sweet little flower girl, Bryan’s daughter and Amanda’s soon-to-be bonus daughter, was going to be very involved in the wedding. They asked if Mary Grace could be in some of their engagement photos and I, of course, said yes! What a sweet, sweet little girl she is! My heart absolutely melted watching this beautiful family together. There was so much love between them and it carried right on into their wedding day and I know it will last their whole lives.

Love that summer sunshine and a couple with a sweet story? Take a look at Sara and Samuel’s engagement session at Pittock Mansion in his military uniform! https://joniloraine.me/2021/08/13/a-summer-engagement-session-in-portland/
