This day was a DREAM and had a little bit of all our Pacific Northwest weather! We braved ALL the elements at this Langdon Farms wedding that ended with a thunder and lightning storm. Sunshine, clouds, rain, gorgeous pink skies, AND thunder and lightning. We had it all! Langdon Farms Golf Club is a quiet, stunning setting and a venue I am so proud to be a preferred vendor for! I absolutely love capturing so many special wedding days here. We kicked off this double header weekend we had at Langdon Farms on Saturday with Julia and Tommy.
A Day to Remember
Julia and Tommy are such sweet people and they have so much love for each other. They are hilarious and so much fun to be around! The sweet way Tommy teared up before he even turned around to see Julia for their first look was the most beautiful thing I witnessed all day! Their florals and colors were absolutely stunning! I was so obsessed with Julia’s bridesmaids dresses. Everything from the color down to the individual cuts and backs to them!
After some gorgeous sunshine earlier in the day, rain came down right before their outside ceremony. We pushed the start time back by about 10 minutes to allow it to clear and it did! It was absolutely perfect and it didn’t derail our timeline at all! We stayed on track and they had a beautiful, emotion-filled ceremony. They even had two special spots saved in the front row for family members that weren’t able to be there physically. But they were there in heart and spirit and I loved how they incorporated and honored them. I also loved how they incorporated their love of hiking and the outdoors into their reception decor!
Julia and Tommy’s sunset portrait time was one of my most favorite moments of their day! I always recommend to add in some time into the timeline for “sunset” portraits later in the day with my couples. This doesn’t always mean we will actually get a real and true bright sky sunset as that doesn’t always happen given the weather that day. But it’s a great opportunity for some additional portrait time during golden hour when the light is much softer.
On Julia and Tommy’s wedding day, however, we got exactly that! A soft and beautiful colored sky right before the thunder and lightning storm rolled in. And what a storm it was! Pouring rain and gusts of winds. Loud clapping thunder and sky brightening lightning that was so close to us! What a way to end a near perfect day! I wish these two a lifetime of love, laughter, and so many fun hiking adventures together that they lose count (if they haven’t already!)
