Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Amy + Josiah : A Fairytale Summer Wedding at Empress Estate

July 29, 2023

What a fairytale romance come to life! Amy and Josiah’s gorgeous wedding day at Empress Estate was one I won’t soon forget. They couldn’t have chosen a more stunning or fitting background to start their journey together. The Empress Estate was such a jaw dropping venue and absolutely PERFECT for them! This classically beautiful mansion sits nestled into the lush wooded Pacific Northwest in Washington. Every hydrangea plant was in bloom and filled the background with pure magic!

Amy and Josiah are some of the absolute sweetest people I’ve had the chance to work with! In addition to being a teacher, Amy is also a photographer herself! So she put careful detail into the planning of this special day, all with the photos in mind. Boy did it pay off! She loves pink and couldn’t have chosen more beautiful bouquets! Various light and dark tones of pink roses surrounded by eucalyptus and greenery. Soft touches of pink were filtered throughout their day.

I literally felt like I was transported right into a Disney fairytale with these two! The twirl of Amy’s dress as Josiah spun her around. The incredible mansion backdrop and touches of blush pinks and flowers everywhere. The super sweet way Amy looked at Josiah all day long. The love you could actually see in their gazes. The way Josiah calls her his Bulgarian princess. HER TIARA! All of it melted me.

Favorite Moments

This ceremony was one of the most gorgeous ceremonies I’ve captured! The elegant draping overhead. A spray of deep pink rose petals across the velvet white aisle-runner had me swooning! SOOOO romantic! This was the stuff that every little girl’s wedding dreams were made of. One of the sweetest things I witnessed during this beautiful day was the special bond Amy shares with her brother. He came all the way from Bulgaria to be here for them!

Amy’s brother was so attentive to her all day, getting her any and everything she might need. As her dad couldn’t make it, he stood in his place to walk Amy down the aisle and danced with her during the father-daughter dance. *Cue the tears! What an amazing brother! There were so many favorite moments of this day that I couldn’t possibly narrow it down. Though the cold sparkler machines during their reception entrance and first dance surely made the list! I wish these two so much love, joy, and adventures to come! This day was definitely one for the books!
