Why you should love your photographer...

On your wedding day you will be spending about 85-90% of your entire day with your photographer by your side. They will be guiding you through every step of the day! You want someone there you trust, who is organized, and who you can have fun with!

When you love your photographer and get along with them really well you can let your guard down around them. You can crack silly jokes and laugh and have fun! In doing so, you end up with not only amazing and genuine photos, but you'll have an even better experience!

When you've taken the time to get to know the person photographing you, they will know and understand your specific needs and wants. They will know the best way to capture you and bring out your best smiles, laughs, and natural emotions. Plus who doesn't love making new friends?!

Sara + Samuel : A Summer Engagement Session in Portland

August 13, 2021

This session was so memorable and had a first for me! Sara and Samuel’s summer engagement session in Portland was beautiful and so much fun! It also included an extra outfit change that involved Samuel’s military uniform! I have so much respect for our armed forces, for those of you who know our story. We lost my husband’s little brother while he was deployed with the marines in Afghanistan while I was pregnant with our youngest. We then named her after him. Addie, the female version of Adam that we liked the best. So when Sara and Samuel mentioned that he might want to bring his uniform for a few photos I, of course, said absolutely!

An Amazing Session Tip!

Sara was stunning just having gotten done with her trial hair and make up appointment! This is something I always recommend to my brides. If you are planning on having a trial of your hair and make up, plan it for the same day as your session. This way you get some great use out of it! You can even have your stylist let your hair down a bit after the trial if you’d like to surprise him with your hair and not show all of it right away.

We planned for their summer engagement session to be closer to sunset time and was it a perfect time indeed! This gorgeous light was EVERYTHING! I was obsessed with the light, their outfits, this amazing tree we came across, and how sweetly they interacted with each other. Their fun and playful side really came out during some of our prompts. Especially where we had Samuel come up from behind her and pick her up playfully. And, of course, if you have the casual outfit to do it in, we should always do a piggy back ride!!

Their wedding day is going to be amazing!! I can feel it!
