Being a photographer, you’d think I’d have TONS of photos of my kids and family all over the place. But believe it or not it’s actually pretty difficult to get my whole crew in front of a camera for a family session! I’ve done a family session of just me with my kiddos and some of just me with my husband, Anthony, a bit more recently. But I’m almost embarrassed to say that it’s been over two and a half YEARS since all 5 of us were in a photo together! So when all these beautiful leaves started changing colors and the weather was getting close to turning here in Oregon, I knew it was the perfect time!

This session was a bit tricky though as I wasn’t able to get another photographer friend to take them for us. So I did what I usually do for our own photos which was to place my camera on a tripod, set the timer and RUN! Perhaps this is why we don’t do these very often. It’s a lot to run back and forth and maintain decent hair haha! But at least the kids cooperated so much better this time!

Meet my family!

My husband, Anthony, and I have been together for almost 11 years and just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary this past August. Some of you may not know, but we are a blended family! My oldest two kiddos, Arika and Jordan, I had with my previous husband. Arika is almost 15 and getting ready to get behind the wheel!! Jordan is 11 and started middle school this year! Anthony also has a son, Gabe, who is 13 and is his mini me! Gabe lives with his mom in Idaho and we get to have him a couple times a year. Then there’s little miss Addie, who is 8, that Anthony and I have together. Four kiddos total and we can’t forget about our two fur babies – our cats Jack and Charlie!

We are a family that loves spending time together but we don’t get to do it as often as we’d like. We LOVE games so we try to have a family game night at least once a week! Uno, Sorry, Jenga, and Clue are some of our recent favorites. Though occasionally we have a karaoke sing off battle every now and then! Baking and getting our kids in the kitchen is something we love to do as a family. As most of you know, I have a serious sweet tooth, so any chance to make some delicious treats with my babies is a good day!!

I look at these photos and just sit in disbelief at not only how big my babies have gotten, but how much we’ve been through and grown as a family. I am so proud of my crew and I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Oh Anthony. I just love him! I had no idea this was going on behind me and I about died laughing when I got them pulled up to edit! We love being goofy and silly. Laughter is huge for us. Comedies are at the top of our preferred watch list. But I have the best comedian around. He always keeps me laughing! This family session is definitely one to remember!
