What a road trip, what a GORGEOUS scene, what a day, WHAT a couple!! I almost don’t even know where to begin to describe this amazing engagement session. These two are some of the most fun, down to earth, loving and hilarious humans I think I’ve ever met. I was so excited when they booked me for their wedding after meeting with them in Portland. I think we clicked almost instantly as they told me of their love of the outdoors and their adventures together and when I learned of the thoughtfully well planned out proposal story that did not go as planned. I was even more excited when they told me where they wanted to have their engagement photos done and why.

They both used to live in Washington in the Steliacoom area before moving to Portland and went to high school together there. When they would get out of school they would go to this place, Chambers Bay, right along a large body of water called Pudget Sound. This park is huge, desert-like in some areas and partly foresty with a huge golf course. There are trains that run through it along the water’s edge. Jon and Rio would go find this rarely used patch of green on the course that sat on this little cliff over looking Pudget Sound and the train tracks. They would sit there together after school and talk, hang out and watch the trains come in. This is where they began to fall in love. OF COURSE we had to go here! How incredibly special for them to be able to return to this place where it all began. The way they looked at each other and laughed with each other, the way he held her and the way she smiled at him, it was as if they were right back in high school.

I can’t exaggerate enough when I say how THRILLED I am for their wedding day! What a beautiful set of souls these two are and I was so honored to be able to capture this special moment in their lives.
